On the “Emergency Information” screen there is an “edit icon” on the top. Click on it.
Then choose the first option – “Name – Owner”.
Now, tap the “profile picture icon”. To set a new picture a dropdown appears with 2 options. Select the lower one – “Choose an image”.
This now brings me to the “Recent” screen. Here tap the “3 bar” icon on the top-left corner.
Then long press on “Photos” or “Google Drive”.
With the long press, it’ll bring you to the “App Info” page.
Now, click the 2nd option – “Permissions”.

When the result appears, scroll down to the bottom. Look for “Settings – App Info” and select it.
We are now on the “App Info” page. Hit “OPEN” to launch the Settings app.
Scroll down and choose “Security”.
Select the last option on the Security page i.e. – “Screen pinning”.
Turn on Screen Pinning.
Now, enable the 2nd option – “Lock device when unpinning”.
This brings me to the “Protect your phone” screen.
Now, we can set up a new Pattern, PIN, or Password. This new screen lock will help us to bypass the Google account verification.
I’ve chosen the PIN option.
Add an easy-to-remember PIN such as 1234 and make note of it.
Now, tap the back button multiple times to land on the “START” screen.
Click “START” to move ahead.
Tap “Don’t copy” on the following screen.
Instead of the “Verify PIN” screen, it directly took me to the “Google – Verify your account” page. But I need the PIN verification screen to bypass the Google lock.
That page can be restored with a hard reset.
Turn off your Cricket Ovation device and wait for the phone to turn off completely.
Now, press and hold the volume up + power button.
This will bring you to a black screen with 3 options – Recovery Mode, Fastboot Mode & Normal Boot.
Use the “volume up” button to choose the “Recovery Mode” option. Now, tap the “volume down button” to select this option.
Instead of Recovery mode, it brings me to the “No Command” screen.
To exit this page –
Press and hold the power button.
Keep the power key pressed and tap the volume up button once.
Release both the keys when you reach the “Android Recovery” page.
In the Recovery Mode, use the volume rocker to move down from “Reboot system now” to “Wipe data/factory reset”. Now, tap the power key once.
Again move down from “Cancel” to “Factory data reset” and hit the power button to reset your device.
The factory data reset takes a few minutes.
I’m once again on the “Hi There” screen. Click “START” to move ahead.
