LG Aristo 3 was released in early 2019 and Aristo 3 Plus came in mid-2019. Both were launched with Android Oreo 8.1. They were upgraded to Android Pie by the end of 2019, in the month of November to be precise.
LG Aristo 4 Plus was launched in September 2019 with Android Pie 9.0 out of the box.
Historically, it’s observed that LG budget phones receive at least one major update in their life cycle. LG K30 MetroPCS received 2 major updates. It was launched with Android Nougat and last month it was updated to Android Pie. Going by this logic, Aristo 3 should also get Android 10.
Let’s check out the LG Aristo 3 (Plus) / Aristo 4 latest Software version and the possibility of getting an Android 10 update.
Aristo 3, Aristo 3 Plus & Aristo 4 Plus share the same hardware. They all have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.4 GHz Quad-Core CPU with 2 GB RAM. It’s a mid-range and old processor which is being used since the first LG Aristo device.
It’s a decent processor for casual gaming. We need to check whether this CPU is suitable for graphically demanding & most popular games such as PUBG, Pokemon Go & Fortnite.
Let’s install and do a Fortnite Compatibility test on LG Aristo 3 (Plus) & Aristo 4 Plus. We are also going to try a modded Fortnite apk that fakes the device check. So Let’s get going –
Fortnite for LG Aristo 4 & Aristo 3 Plus / Is the LG Aristo 4 Fortnite Compatible?
Let’s try to install Fortnite on our LG Aristo 4 Plus.
I’m using the Google Chrome Browser.
I’ve searched for “Fortnite Download” as visible in the above screenshot.
The first result on the search page takes us to the official Epic Games website.
It says, to Play Fortnite for Free we’ve to install the Epic Games App.
Let’s give the necessary app permissions to Google Chrome Browser.
The EpicGamesApp.apk file is downloaded. We can “Open” it for the installation.
The Epic Games installed is installed, Let’s open it and install Fortnite on our Aristo 4.
Let’s open Fornite for installation.
It’s Bad News. It says “DEVICE NOT SUPPORTED”.
The current minimum Android System Requirements for Fornite are Android Oreo 8.0 & 4 GB RAM.
LG Aristo 4 / Aristo 3 (Plus) fulfills the first requirement but fails due to a limited amount of RAM.
LG Aristo 4 Fortnite apk (Modded)
I’ve downloaded the modded Fortnite apk from the xda forums. This apk skips the device check. Let’s try to install it on our Aristo 4.
Let’s access the downloaded apk file via File Manager on Aristo 4.
The apk file is “Fortnite_Latest-signed.apk”
As this app is downloaded outside the Play Store, we have to enable “Unknown Sources” before app installation.
Now, Let’s tap INSTALL for the app installation.
The installed tried to install the app but failed with this error “App not installed”.
Even uninstalling the Epic Games installed didn’t help. It still shows the same error.
Fortnite is not compatible with Aristo 4 & Aristo 3 (Plus).
If some solution comes up to run Fortnite on Aristo 4, I’ll update this post.
