How to bypass the lock screen on Cricket Dream 5G Forgot Password, PIN, Pattern/Locked Out/Hard Factory Reset without password
I’m stuck on the Dream 5G lock screen. I do not remember the correct password.
To bypass the lock screen we need to factory reset the device. In the process, you’ll lose the internal storage data including photos, videos, apps, etc.
Let’s turn off the phone to enter recovery mode.
Long press and power button and click “Power off”.
Wait for the phone to shut down completely.
Now, press and hold the volume up & power button.
This will bring you to the black screen with 3 options – Recovery Mode, Fastboot Mode, & Normal boot.
Use the volume up button to choose the “Recovery Mode” option. Then tap the volume down key to enter recovery mode.
Instead of recovery mode, it brings me to the “No command” screen.
To exit this page –
- Press and hold the power key. Keep it pressed and hit the volume up button once.
- Release both the keys when you see the “Android Recovery” screen.
In the recovery mode, use the volume button to move up & down and select an option with the power button.
Go down from “Reboot system now” to “Wipe data/factory reset” with the volume key. Then hit the power button once.
On the next page, again go down from “Cancel” to “Factory data reset” with the volume button. Now, press the power key to hard reset your phone.
The reset will take a few minutes. After the reset, I reached the “Hi There” screen.
Click the ‘START” button to proceed.
Now, connect your device to a Wifi network.
After a few minutes, it brings me to the “Copy apps & data” screen. Click “Don’t copy”.
The next page is “Verify Password”. This time there is an alternate option – “Use my Google account instead”.
