How to factory reset moto g pure without Password, PIN, Pattern

On Motorola G Pure, the need for a hard factory reset arises when stuck on the lock screen due to a forgotten Password, PIN, or Pattern.

To reset the phone we need to power off the device & then enter the recovery mode.

After the reset via recovery mode, you also need to verify with the previously synced Google account to reach the Moto G Pure home screen.

In this post, we are going to bypass the lock screen as well as the Google account verification using the latest July 2023 method without a PC as follows –

I forgot the Moto G Pure lock screen password.

The only way to bypass the lock screen is a hard factory reset via Recovery Mode.

To put our phone into recovery mode, let’s turn it off.

Long press the power key and choose “Power off” as shown above.

Wait for the phone to shut down completely.

Now, press and hold the volume down & power keys to boot the phone.

It brings me to a black screen with the “START” option.

Use the volume rocker to switch from “START” to “RECOVERY MODE”.

Then click the power button once.

Instead of recovery mode, we reach the “No command” screen.

To bypass this No command page –

  • Press and hold the power button.
  • Keep the power key pressed and tap the volume up button once.
  • Release both keys when you see the “Android Recovery” screen.

In recovery mode, move down from “Reboot system now” to “wipe data/factory reset” with the volume down button.

Then click the power key once.

Again move down from “Cancel” to “Factory data reset”.

Click the power button to begin the reset.

Once the data wipe is complete, again tap the power key to reboot the device.

The reboot takes a few minutes then we reach the “Hi There” screen as shown above.

We need to complete the setup wizard to reach the Moto G Pure home screen.

Click the “START” button to move ahead.

Then connect your phone to the internet.

It takes a while, then we reach the “Copy apps & data” screen.

Hit “Don’t copy” to move ahead.

The next screen is “Verify Password”.

At this stage, we either need to verify with the lock screen Password/PIN/Pattern, or the previously synced Google account.

Sign in with your last synced Google account and follow the 0n-screen prompts to reach the Motorola G Pure home screen.

In case, you do not remember the Google account credentials, follow the below link to bypass the Google account verification –
