LG Aristo 3 (lmx220ma) and aristo 3 Plus (lmx220mb) belong to MetroPCS and Metro phones can be unlocked only using the pre-installed device unlock app. If someone claims to unlock your Aristo 3 with unlock code he is fooling you. There is no provision to enter an unlock code on Aristo 3 or Aristo 3 Plus.

How to Unlock LG Aristo 3 & Aristo 3 Plus for Free – MetroPCS lmx220ma / lmx220mb
Open the “MetroPCS” folder located on the LG Aristo 3 / Aristo 3 Plus home screen as shown above.
Look for the “Device Unlock” app in this folder tap on it to run.
Allow Device Unlock app to make and manage calls by tapping “ALLOW”
The next screen says “Your device is network locked at this time, which prevents it from operating with other compatible wireless networks. To enquire about your device’s unlock eligibility, please continue.
Select “CONTINUE” to proceed further.
Make sure you’re connected to the internet.
After a few moments, you’ll see the “Permanent Unlock” Screen as visible in the above screenshot.
Click “Permanent Unlock” to initiate the unlocking process.
The device is sending the “Permanent Unlock” request to the server.
You can see the unlock is approved. It says – “Unlock Approved: Mobile device is permanently unlocked”
To apply these settings we need to restart the phone.
Tap “Restart Now” to use your LG Aristo 3 / Aristo 3 Plus with other GSM carriers.
After the restart, the Device Unlock app is gone from the MetroPCS folder.
If your unlock request failed, then there are 2 choices
1. Serve the Unlock Period to make your device eligible for free unlocking
To unlock your Aristo 3 / Aristo 3 Plus MetroPCS you must have your device active on MetroPCS network for at least 6 months. I’ve personally observed that if you purchase an activated LG Aristo 3 from eBay, then even without buying a monthly plan the device gets eligible for unlocking after 6 months period.
Once the 6 months period is over, you need to repeat the above procedure once again using the pre-installed device unlock app.
2. Buy the LG Aristo 3 App Unlock Service
If you cannot wait for 6 months and wish to unlock your phone right away, then you need to purchase the LG Aristo 3 app unlock service.
After paying for the service they make your device eligible for unlocking. You need to use the same procedure as explained before to unlock your phone using the device unlock app.
