How to hard factory reset/bypass screen lock on Motorola G Pure without Password, PIN, or Pattern when Locked out

I’ve forgotten the Moto G Pure lock screen password.

Unfortunately, we cannot bypass the lock screen without a reset. During this process, you’ll lose the internal storage data including photos, videos, apps & other files.

To hard reset the device we need to put our Motorola G Pure into recovery mode.

Let’s turn off the device with the power button.

Now, press and hold the volume down + power keys until you see the Android robot on the screen.

Now, use the volume rocker to switch from “START” to “RECOVERY MODE”.

We are now stuck on the “No command” screen.

To bypass this page –

Press and hold the power button. Keep it holding and then tap the volume up key once.

Release both the buttons as soon as you reach the “Android Recovery” screen.

Use the volume button to move down from “Reboot System Now” to “Wipe data/factory reset”.

Now, hit the power key once.

Again go down from “Cancel” to “Factory data reset”.

Press the power key to reset your device.

Once the data wipe is complete, again tap the power button to reboot your phone.

The factory data reset will take a few minutes and then it’ll bring you to the “Hi There” screen.

Click the “START” button to move ahead.

Now, connect your phone to a Wifi network.

The device is now connected to the internet and it’s getting ready. Wait for a few minutes.

Afterward, it brings me to the “Copy apps & data” page.

Click “Don’t copy” to move ahead.

Once again I’m stuck on the “Verify Password” screen. There is an alternate option this time – “Use my Google account instead”.

Sign in with your Google account and follow the on-screen prompts to reach the Moto G Pure home screen.
