LG Rebel 4 Secure Startup Bypass – Forgot PIN, Password lml212vl

During the screen lock setup, we get the secure startup option for added security. As the name suggests, the secure startup activates on every reboot. You’ll not receive any calls, messages, or notifications until you enter the correct secure startup PIN/Pattern/Password after every restart.

If you’re stuck on the secure startup screen on your Rebel 4, you need to hard reset the phone via recovery mode.

Let’s find out how to bypass the Rebel 4 secure startup screen to reach the home screen –

You can see I’m locked out on my LG Rebel 4. I don’t remember the correct Secure startup pattern.

30 attempts are remaining.

After 20 failed attempts, we need to restart the phone & try again.

On the last attempt, it shows a warning. The phone will reset automatically and all files will get erased if you draw the incorrect pattern.

You do not need to wait this long to reset the device. You can just power off your Rebel 4 and put it into recovery mode to perform a hard reset.

Long-press the power button on the back and tap “POWER OFF” to turn off your phone.

Once the phone is off, press the volume down + power keys to reboot the phone.

As soon as the LG logo appears on the screen, release the power key for a moment and hold it again. Don’t leave the volume down button.

Keep holding both the keys until you reach the “Factory data reset” screen.

We are in the LG Rebel 4 Recovery Mode.

Let’s use the volume rocker and power keys to reset the device.

Go down from “No(Exit)” to “Yes” with the Volume button. Now click the power key once to select “Yes”.

Repeat the above steps.

Go down from No to Yes and click the power key to reset your Rebel 4.

The hard reset takes a few minutes.

Afterward, we reach the “Welcome” page. This is the first page of the setup wizard.

Lets’ click the forward arrow to begin the device setup.

In the next step, we need to connect our Rebel 4 to a Wifi network.

Connect to the internet and click “NEXT”.

The phone is now checking for updates. Let’s wait for a while.

When you reach the “Copy apps & data” page, choose the “Set up as new” option.

Now, it brings me to the Pattern verification page. As I don’t know the correct pattern, I’ll choose the 2nd option “USE MY GOOGLE ACCOUNT INSTEAD”.

This time we are on the Google Verification page.

To get past this screen, we need to verify with the previously synced Google account on this device.

Sign in with your Google account and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup wizard.

First of all, we need to go 2 steps back from the “Verify your account” page to the “Set Internet Connection” page.

Use the back button to go back.

We are on the “Set Internet Connection” screen.

On this page, we need to tap the “Wifi button” and the “Next button” at the same time.

You’ll succeed in a few tries.

If done correctly, it’ll bring you to the “Date & Time” screen.

Click the “NEXT” button to move ahead.

Hit “NEXT” on the following page to reach the “Protect your phone” screen.

It allows us to add a new PIN, Pattern, or Password. This new lock will replace the old screen lock.

I’ve picked the PIN option.

Choose “No, thanks” on the Secure start-up page and select “NEXT”.

Now, enter an easy-to-remember PIN.

I’ve set up 1234 as the new screen lock PIN.

We have successfully changed the screen lock.

Let’s use this new PIN to bypass the Google account.

After adding the PIN, it brings us to the Google services page.

ACCEPT the terms and conditions to move ahead.

Turn on Wifi and click “NEXT” on the “Set Internet Connection” screen.

Now, we have reached the screen lock verification page. The Pattern lock is replaced with the PIN lock.

Enter the PIN 1234 and tap “OK”

The PIN verification is successful. We have bypassed the Google account verification.

Now, there is a “Skip” option on the Google sign-in page.

Let’s skip the Google account set up to proceed further.

Tap “NEXT” on the “Date & Time” screen.

Accept the Google services terms and conditions in the next step.

Finally, we have reached the last page of the setup wizard i.e. the Legal Documents screen.

Tick all the “I agree” checkboxes and tap “DONE” to complete the device setup.

We have successfully landed on the LG Rebel 4 home screen thus bypassing the secure startup screen.
