When you’re locked out on your LG Journey and you hard reset the phone using the volume down & power button, Google’s FRP (Factory Reset Protection) comes into effect. We need to verify with the previously synced Google account to get past this screen.
In this post, we are going to use the latest 2021 hack to bypass the Google lock/verification on LG Journey without a computer. In a few minutes, you’ll be able to use your phone once again.
After doing a hard reset via the recovery mode, I reached the Welcome screen of the setup wizard.
Let’s move ahead using the forward button.
Now, connect to the internet via Wifi or Mobile data and hit “NEXT”.
Select “Set up as new” when on the “Copy apps & data” page.
Now, we are on the screen lock verification page. I don’t remember the lock screen password. The alternate option is – “USE MY GOOGLE ACCOUNT INSTEAD”.
This brings us to the Google verification page. We need to sign-in to the previously synced Google account on this device.
Let’s use the latest hack to get past this Google lock screen as follows –
How to bypass Google Lock/Verification on LG Journey l322dl Tracfone, Straight Talk, Simple Mobile, Total Wireless, Page Plus without computer 2020 2021
For the ease of understanding, let’s break the whole process into 4 parts –
STEP 1: Use another phone to lock a SIM Card and insert this SIM in LG Journey
We need to set up a SIM card lock. I’m using MetroPCS SIM and LG K40 for this purpose.
If using an LG phone, open the Settings app and go to –
Settings > General Tab > Lock Screen & Security
Select “Set up SIM card lock” on the Lock Screen & Security page.
Now, tap “Lock SIM Card”.
It’s asking for the current PIN. The default MetroPCS SIM PIN is 1234
Type 1234 and hit “OK”. The SIM card lock is enabled.
Let’s insert this locked SIM in LG Journey.
Use a SIM ejector tool to remove the LG Journey SIM tray as shown above.
Place the SIM card in its respective slot and push back the SIM tray.
STEP 2: Turn on Bluetooth and receive an image file via Bluetooth
Now, it’s asking for the PIN-code on LG Journey.
Enter the SIM PIN 1234 and tap the “tick icon”.
There is a “Not signed in” notification on the screen.
We need to swipe down the screen starting from “Not signed in” towards the bottom. Follow the arrow as marked in the above screenshot.
This gives access to a few shortcut icons on the top. Long-press the Bluetooth icon to reach the Bluetooth page.
Now, toggle the Bluetooth switch to turn it on.
We need another phone to send an image file to LG Journey via Bluetooth.
I’m sending a screenshot file from LG K40 to Journey using Bluetooth.
Open the gallery app and share a file.
Choose the sharing medium as Bluetooth.
Select the available Bluetooth device LG L322DL. This is the model number of LG Journey.
The file is being sent.
On your LG Journey, tap “ACCEPT” to receive the picture.
Hit the “3 dots” icon and select “Received files” as shown below.
Now, tap the received file to open it.
STEP 3: Get access to the Screen lock setup page and add a PIN, Pattern or Password
The Gallery app is set as the default app to open this image file.
We need to open it via the Photos app. Tap “Photos” to open this picture.
Give necessary access to the Photos app by tapping “ALLOW”.
Now use the “Share icon” to send this file.
This time, use the sharing medium as “Email”.
Click “ALLOW” to give access to the “Email” app.
Now, select the “Email provider” as “Other.
Type just any email id in the “EMAIL ADDRESS” field & select “MANUAL SETUP”.
Now, choose the account type as “Microsoft Exchange” and hit “NEXT”.
This brings us to the “Server Settings” page.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the last option “Add” to add a client certificate.
A pop-up appears on the screen. It reads – we need to change to a secure screen lock to move ahead.
Hit “CHANGE” to accept the request.
Now, we have landed on the “Protect your phone” screen.
We are going to set a new screen lock PIN, Pattern or Password,
This new lock will replace the old screen lock.
Let’s add a screen PIN.
On the “Secure start-up” page, select “No, thanks” and tap “NEXT”.
I’m adding a PIN 1234
Re-enter the PIN and tap “OK”.
A text appears on the screen – “Screen lock has been changed”.
Let’s use this new PIN to bypass the Google lock screen.
Use the back button and go back to the first page.
Keep going back until you reach the “Welcome page”.
STEP 4: Go back to the Welcome page and bypass the Google lock screen
Now, we are on the Welcome screen.
Move ahead using the “Forward arrow”.
Tap “NEXT” on the internet connection page.
Hit “Set up as new” on the “Copy apps & data” page.
Once again we are on the Screen lock verification page.
Verify with the Screen PIN we added a few step ago i.e. 1234
The PIN verification was successful.
We have a “Skip” option on the Google account setup page.
Tap “Skip” to proceed further.
Accept Google services terms and conditions by hitting “MORE” then “ACCEPT”.
Select the “I agree” checkbox on the “Legal documents” page and click “DONE”.
We have reached the LG Journey home screen thus bypassing the Google lock screen.
