LG G8x is now updated to Android 11. It was launched in November 2019 with Android 9 Pie. Being a flagship device it has received 2 major updates in its lifecycle.
After this new Android 11 update, the old FRP bypass method does not work. Now, we need a new method to get past the Google account verification on LG G8x.
The Factory Reset Protection on G8x gets enabled when you reset the phone using the volume down + power keys via Recovery Mode. During the device setup, we need to verify with the lock screen PIN/Pattern/Password or with the previously synced Google account.
Let’s see how to reach the G8x home screen when stuck on the Google lock screen –
I was locked out on my LG G8x due to the forgotten lock screen password. The only option left was a hard reset using the volume down & power keys.
After the reset, I’ve reached the “Welcome” screen of the setup wizard.
Let’s tap the “forward button” to complete the device setup.
On the following page, we need to set up the new second screen with or without a notch. Click “Next” to proceed further.
On LG G8/G8x, you need to verify with the previously synced Google account when you hard reset the phone via Recovery Mode.

After doing a hard reset using the volume down & power keys on my LG G8, I’ve landed on the “Welcome” screen of the setup wizard.
Let’s use the forward arrow to move ahead.
Tap “Next” on the “New second screen” page.
In the next step, we need to connect to the internet via Wifi or Mobile data.
Hit “Don’t copy” on the “Copy apps & data” page.
This brings us to the screen lock password verification page.
I don’t remember the screen lock password. There is one more option on the page – “Use my Google Account Instead”. Let’s select this option.
Now, we have reached the Google Verification page. We need to sign in to the previously synced Google account on this specific device.

How to bypass Google Verification on LG G8/G8x without computer lm-g820 lm-g850
On the “Verify your Account” screen, tap the blank space “Email or Phone”. When the keyboard shows up tap the small keyboard icon at the bottom-right corner.
A “Default Keyboard” pop-up appears on the screen. Hit “Settings” as shown above.
Now, we have reached the “Manage Keyboards” page.
Select the first keyboard on this page i.e. “Gboard”.
On the Gboard Settings page, tap the “3 dots” icon at the top-right and select “Help & Feedback”.
This brings us to the “Support” page.
In the “Describe your issue” search box type delete & select the first search result – “Delete or disable apps on Android”.
On the next page, search for the phrase – “Tap to go to Application Settings” and click on it.
This takes us to the App Info page. Scroll down on this page and select “Google”.
Hit “Open” to launch the Google app.
In the search bar enter Settings and select the “Settings app” from the search result dropdown as shown above.
We are now in the Settings app.
Click on “Fingerprints” and hit “Next”.
This time we are on the Select Screen Lock page.
Let’s use it to add a new screen lock. This new lock will replace the old lock.
I’m adding 1234 as the Screen PIN.
Type the PIN once again and hit “OK”.
The Screen lock has been changed. This confirmation message shows up on the screen.
Now, let’s go back and use this new PIN to bypass the Google Account.
Go back to the “Welcome” page using the back button.
Once again we are on the first page of the Setup Wizard.
Click the “Forward button” to move ahead.
Hit “Next” on the “New Second Screen” page.
Tap “Don’t copy” on the next page.
Now, we have reached the screen lock PIN verification page.
Verify with the PIN we added in the previous step i.e. 1234
The PIN verification was successful.
We get the “Skip” option on the Google account setup page.
You can also add a Google account. The previously synced account is no more needed.
Skip the Google account set up to proceed further.
In the next step, we need to accept the Google services terms and conditions.
Tap “OK” on the “Review additional apps” page.
Finally, on the “Legal documents” page, we need to tick the “I agree” checkboxes.
Click “Done” to finish the setup wizard.
We have successfully landed on the LG G8/G8x home screen, thus bypassing the Google account.
